Have you ever wondered how to use herbs? You bought those beauties blooming in freshness and now they are sitting on your windowsill, somewhat droopy with scum gathering under the pots, or worse yet, they’re sitting on your patio table and you just keep forgetting to water them. Because really, you’re just not sure what to do with them, and to be honest, neither was I. That’s why I made this how to use herbs free printable; and to remind myself how good they were for me, and what particular ailments I could use them for.

My number one favourite way to use herbs is to gather a whole bunch of different herbs and snip them up really fine to dump into a quinoa or brown rice salad with peeled carrot strips, currants, a little feta, cherry tomatoes and baby spinach leave, or you could throw in some amaranth leaves.
You likely have a whole plethora of edible and nutritious weeds in your garden, that can be used in salads, stir fries and bolognaise dishes. I love the Weed Forager’s Handbook for excellent photographs identifying these sneaky plants along with recipes and uses for each weed.
Alternatively you can opt for a salad made using mesculun, fancy or cos lettuce and toss through some oregano and basil leaves.
I love to pair a roast chicken with sage, and whole roasted vegetables, eg capsicum, pumpkin, sweet potato, potato, a whole bulb of garlic, celery and zucchini. Keep the pan juices and whiz together the celery, zucchini, garlic and sage into a delicious gravy.
Or you poach chicken with a few vegetables, even an egg, garlic and basil.
Actually tastes interesting when you blend in thyme leaves and butter. I love to top a shepherds pie with this combination.
